Division is a math operation that allows us to share numbers. It is the opposite of multiplication. It involves grouping and sharing.

Division: The act of splitting into equal parts or groups. Multiplication: The act of adding the same number multiple times. Grouping: The act of separating items into smaller sets.

Division was one of the first math operations to be used. It is used in many everyday tasks, such as baking and cooking. Division is also used to measure time, such as seconds, minutes and hours.
