Haiku: A type of Japanese poem consisting of three lines. The first and last lines have five syllables and the middle line has seven syllables. Limerick: A humorous five-line poem often used to tell a story. It has a rhyme scheme of AABBA. Meter: A poetic device used to measure the rhythm of a poem by counting the number of stressed and unstressed syllables in each line.
