Lyric Poem: a highly musical type of poetry that expresses the emotions of a speaker. Their main purpose is storytelling. 2. Verse: One line in a poem. 3. Stanza: A group of lines in a poem. 4. Mood: The emotion created in the reader by part or all of a literary work. 5. Imagery: Language that creates a picture using the senses. 6. Metaphor: Compares one thing to another by describing it as if it were the other. 7. Simile: A comparison between two unlike things using the words "like" or "as".
