Sally was a 4th grader who loved playing outside with her friends. One day, while playing soccer in the park, something happened that made her upset. Sally's friend, Amy, noticed that she was upset and asked her what happened. Sally showed her something that was hurting her, and Amy immediately offered to help. She ran to get something from her mom's car and came back to clean and bandage Sally's wound. Sally felt much better after Amy's kind gesture, but she was still disappointed that she couldn't do something she enjoyed. That's when another friend, Phillip, came over and suggested they do something else instead. Sally loved this idea and was happy to join in. As they played, Sally realized that her friends cared about her, and it made her feel grateful. She knew that they were always there for her, whether she needed someone to play with or just someone to talk to. Through their actions, Sally's friends showed her that they cared about her and wanted to make her feel better. This is an example of how people can show they care about each other by offering help and being thoughtful, even in difficult situations.
