Reading Literary 6: I can analyze how understanding the point of view of some texts requires distinguishing what is directly stated from what is meant (satire, sarcasm, irony, understatement, etc.) Reading Informational 6: I can analyze how style and content contribute to the power, persuasiveness, and beauty of a text along with the author's point of view and purpose for the text. Reading Informational 8: I can evaluate the premises, purposes, and arguments in works of public advocacy and delineate and evaluate the reasoning in seminal US texts.
