Students practice multiple choice and two-credit constructed-responses for the New York State ELA Exam (Grades 3-8). Students will answer questions based on a paired reading passage with one text from a journalist perspective and one from a prose author perspective. The lesson contains scaffolding. Run the full lesson or just the two-credit constructed-response question for quick practice. After submitting their two-credit constructed-response, students receive feedback and a grade (0-2 points) based on the testing rubric. To create the lesson select: - Topic: Can be something the students are interested in or content/standards from other subjects, e.g. Science, Social Studies etc - Grade level Pro-tip: To maximize classroom engagement, let your students decide the topic for the lesson.
