Boyle's Law: What It Says: Boyle's Law states that the pressure and volume of a gas are inversely proportional when the temperature and the amount of gas are kept constant. In other words, if you squeeze a gas into a smaller space, its pressure will increase. Simple Example: Imagine you have a balloon. If you squeeze the balloon by pressing on it, the air inside the balloon gets squished into a smaller space, and the balloon feels firmer. That's because the pressure inside the balloon increased as the volume got smaller.
