Lesson 5 SI Senses. Whole class demo on localisation - can take outside if suitable. Pictures on slide 7 - praying mantis 'ear' in on the 'belly'. The 2 similar ones are of tympanic membranes on legs of grasshoppers, other creatures like amphibians have membranes where you might expect ears to be. Research task based on question of - Can plants hear? aims to get them to look at the idea of can plants detect 'sound' and/or respond to it. Think about the idea that some people suggest singing to plants or playing them music helps them grow better. Encourage to use Co-Pilot but turn it into their own thoughts and words.
