Lesson description

Goal: Students must know and be able to explain what is meant by Sustainable Development Goal 5 - Gender Equality. Your students must also reflect on the areas in which the genders are not equal today and how they can contribute to a solution. In the first part of the activity, we establish what the students already know about equality. Your students must also decide whether they have gender equality in their country, and why it is important. After this part, you can, for example, divide your students into groups and let them work on why equality is important. Your students then have to guess which targets the UN has set to reach gender equality. This is a good starting point for discussion about what your students think is important. Finally, your students get to come up with ideas on how they can help achieve UN's Sustainable Development Goal 5. #sustainability #5-7 #8-10 #11-13
