Students practice argumentative essays (extended writing-response) for the Georgia Milestones test (ELA Grades 6-EOG). Students will write an argumentative essay based on information provided in two reading passages. The lesson contains scaffolding, as well as one selected response question and one constructed response as a lead-up to the essay. Run the full lesson or just the extended writing-response prompt for quick practice. After submitting their argumentative essay, students receive feedback and a grade (0-7 points) based on the testing rubric. To create the lesson select: - Topic: Can be something the students are interested in or content/standards from other subjects, e.g. Science, Social Studies etc - Grade level Pro-tip: To maximize classroom engagement, let your students decide the topic for the lesson.
