Lesson description

✍🏻 Curipod Quick Writes The Curipod Quick Write series is designed to get students excited about reading and writing. It engages students in simple writing experiences that teach them how to think like writers, build confidence, find their voice, and promote fluency. Curipod Quick Writes are TEKS and CCSS aligned. 🌟Social Media Control Bureau - Argumentative Quick Write Students are campaigning for Commissioner of the Social Media Control Bureau. Students will reflect on common issues related with use of social media, then suggest solutions and compromises, in the form of a debate speech, to meet the needs of both adults and youth. Students will receive a gamified response determining if they won the election-- or if they went viral, in a bad way. 🦸 Learning Objective: By the end of this lesson, students will be able to analyze short texts and create a short argumentative paragraph using evidence to support their claims. 🎯 Feedback: Students receive feedback aligned with the Curipod Argumentative Quick Write Rubric. 🛠 To Customize your Lesson: 1.
