Lesson description

It’s the last game of the season. As Team Manager, you have the toughest task of the year. You have to decide which players to keep on the roster for the following season—and convince the Team Owner that your picks are the right ones to make. Based on the season’s stats, player evaluations, and a meeting with the Coach, students must make their final recommendations with evidence and reasoning. If they make the right picks, the team could go all the way next year! If not, the Team Owner will need to find someone else for the job. . Use this story-based writing activity to practice writing short argumentative responses with a claim, evidence, and reasoning. To customize the lesson, type in the name of a basketball team and select your grade level. BUZZ! It’s game time.
