The Legislative Branch is responsible for making laws. The Executive Branch is responsible for enforcing laws. The Judicial Branch is responsible for interpreting laws.
The Three Branches of the American Government
Separation of Powers: A system of government in which power is divided among three independent branches: the executive, the legislative, and the judicial. Federalism: A system of government in which power is shared between the national government and state governments. Checks and Balances: A system in which each branch of government can limit the power of the other branches.
The United States government is the only government in the world to have a Constitution that begins with the words 'We the People' rather than 'We the Government' The 13 stripes on the U.S. flag represent the original 13 colonies that declared their independence from Britain in 1776 The Vice President of the United States is the President of the Senate, but when the Senate is in session, the Vice President does not have a vote
