DNA is found in all living things. DNA is like a code that tells your body how to grow and work. It is made up of long strands of 4 different chemicals.
DNA: Building Blocks of Life
DNA is a molecule that contains the instructions an organism needs to develop, live and reproduce. It is found in the nucleus of all living cells. Each strand of DNA is made up of four different molecules. These molecules are represented by the letters A, T, C and G. Different combinations of these four letters in your body are in instructions for how the organism or YOU will develop and function.

DNA has the ability to repair itself. When it detects a mistake, it will try to correct it. DNA is the only molecule known to store genetic information. DNA molecules are so tiny that it would take about 50,000 of them lined up in a row to stretch across the diameter of a human hair.
