The first photograph ever made in the USA was taken in Boston in 1839. The 'Lunch Atop a Skyscraper' photograph, taken in 1932, was actually staged and all of the men in the picture were paid extra for participating. The most widely published photograph in history is called the 'V-J Day in Times Square' and was taken in 1945.
