This was seen during World War I, with countries conscripting soldiers, rationing food, and using propaganda to rally support.
During WW1, the German army used a kind of primitive tank known as a 'land cruiser' for the first time. The first camouflaged uniforms appeared during WW1 and were worn by British snipers. The first self-propelled vehicle, also known as a tank, was invented and used by the British in WW1.
