Tragic Hero: A protagonist in a tragedy who is typically of noble birth and has a fatal flaw that leads to their downfall. Ambition: A strong desire or determination to achieve a goal or succeed. Supernatural: Relating to, or being above or beyond what is natural; unexplainable by natural law.
Macbeth was written in 1606 by William Shakespeare and is one of his shortest tragedies. The play was written with the intention of being performed at the Globe Theatre in London. The first meeting between Macbeth and the three witches is the only scene in the play that Shakespeare did not write.
