Deafness doesn't mean the end of achieving great things! Many people have become famous despite their deafness. Helen Keller was one of the earliest famous deaf people. She was deaf and blind, but still succeeded in college and wrote several books. The actor Marlee Matlin is the only deaf person to ever win an Academy Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role.
