Jesus was born in Bethlehem, in the Judean hills south of Jerusalem. He spent much of his ministry in Galilee, in the Northern region of Israel. He was crucified in Jerusalem, on the hill known as Golgotha.

Jesus is said to have taught in the area of the Sea of Galilee, specifically in Capernaum, which is now a national park in Israel. The Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem is said to be the birthplace of Jesus and is a popular pilgrimage site for Christians. At the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem, it is believed that Jesus was crucified, buried and resurrected, making it an important site of Christian devotion.
