Nutrition: The study of food and how it affects the body and mind. It involves understanding the components of food, how the body uses them, and the relationship between diet, health, and disease. Wellness: A state of physical, mental, and social wellbeing that incorporates healthy habits and lifestyles. Lifetime Nutrition and Wellness: A program designed to educate students on topics such as nutrition, physical activity, and mental health to promote lifelong healthy habits.

Texas has the highest number of high school students enrolled in Lifetime Nutrition and Wellness classes in the US. Texas is the only state in the US that requires high school students to take Lifetime Nutrition and Wellness classes for graduation. Lifetime Nutrition and Wellness classes in Texas are taught by Registered Dietitians, nutritionists and health educators.
