Facts are statements that can be verified and proven true, while opinions are personal beliefs. Facts are usually objective statements of reality, while opinions are subjective statements. Facts can be supported with evidence while opinions cannot.
Facts and Opinions
Fact: A statement that can be proven true or false based on evidence. Opinion: A personal belief or view that cannot be proven true or false. Bias: A prejudice or personal opinion that influences how a person perceives information.
Concepts:
An opinion is a judgment based on facts or beliefs, while a fact is something that can be proven or disproved. Facts can be used to back up an opinion, but an opinion does not have to be based on facts. It is possible for two people to disagree on an opinion yet still both be right.
