Different Types of Energy
Mechanical energy is energy from moving objects. For example, a moving car has mechanical energy. Light energy is energy from the sun. It helps us see things and helps plants to grow. Sound energy is energy from vibrations that we can hear. A person talking or music playing are examples of sound energy.
Did you know?
Mechanical energy can be transferred from one object to another via collisions. Light energy is so powerful that it takes less than a billionth of a second to travel from the sun to the earth. Sound energy can travel through walls and other objects, although it will be weakened by the objects it passes through.
Name four types of energy: ____, ____, ____, ____
