Can you name the four stages of the water cycle?
The Water Cycle
Water evaporates from lakes, oceans and other bodies of water to form clouds. Clouds move and when they get too heavy, they release the water as rain or snow. Rain or snow collects in lakes, oceans and other bodies of water to begin the cycle again.
the water cycle
Evaporation - the process in which liquid water turns into water vapor, a gas form of water.
Condensation - the process in which water vapor turns back into liquid water.
Precipitation - the process in which water falls from the sky in the form of rain, hail, sleet, or snow.

Did you know?
The water cycle is powered by the sun's energy. Without the sun's energy, the water cycle would not exist. The water cycle is connected to the carbon cycle, since carbon is also recycled between organisms, the atmosphere, and the Earth's surface. The water cycle is responsible for the formation of the Earth's oceans, rivers, lakes and other bodies of water.

- Attempt to locate the owner and return the wallet with the money intact
How does water move from the Earth's surface into the atmosphere during the water cycle?
What is the process of water moving around the Earth called?
Did you know?
The water cycle is powered by the sun. Solar energy heats up water in oceans, lakes and rivers and turns it into vapor. The amount of water on Earth has remained the same since it was first formed. The same water molecules that were here billions of years ago are still here today. The water cycle is constantly shifting water from the ocean, to the atmosphere, to the land, and back again. This process happens in less than a week.
Example: Water Cycle
After rain falls on the ground, it evaporates into the air as water vapor. The water vapor then cools and condenses, forming clouds. Eventually, the water droplets in the clouds become heavy and fall back to the ground as precipitation, completing the water cycle.
What is the definition of evaporaton?
What is Evaporation?
Evaporation is the process of a liquid turning into a gas. It occurs when molecules in a liquid absorb energy and move quickly enough to escape into the air. Common examples of evaporation are the water cycle and sweat cooling your body.

Question: How does water move through the water cycle?
Water evaporates from bodies of water and forms clouds. The clouds move and when they reach cooler temperatures, water droplets form. The droplets turn into rain, hail, or snow, and fall back to the Earth.
A: Draw the water cycle and label the different steps. B: Explain each step of the water cycle to your partner.
