This activity pairs with HMH Into Reading K–5 · Lesson 57, which focuses on ow and ou. The curriculum teaches the sound through letter-sound correspondence and guided word reading; this Curipod activity is the productive application step: students generate and spell their own words with ow and ou, getting feedback in real time.

The activity surfaces gaps fast.
