How Dickinson ISD is bringing Bluebonnet to life.

The partnership
Dickinson ISD is adopting Bluebonnet Learning RLA for the 2026-27 school year, and they wanted the rollout to land with real energy in classrooms. Jennifer Brewer, Dickinson's K-12 Literacy Coordinator, and her literacy team knew the curriculum was strong, but they wanted something more: an engagement and insights layer that would make Bluebonnet come alive in classrooms. So she reached out to Curipod, already implemented at the high school level, to build it together.
We jumped in side by side. The two teams sat down with the curriculum unit by unit. We met with teachers and coaches. We watched lessons unfold in dozens of real classrooms. And the opportunities came into focus fast: pacing, insights, writing practice with real-time feedback, grammar and skill practice, phonics, and Spanish support. We agreed on where Curipod could add the most value, and got to work.
What it looks like in Dickinson
From there, the Curipod team built lesson structures, alignments, and insights reporting. First for Dickinson teachers, and ultimately for teachers across Texas. Every activity was tested in multiple classrooms, with multiple teachers, until we knew it actually worked.
And then the district saw what happens when Curipod is embedded inside Bluebonnet. Kids leaned in. Wrote more. Asked sharper questions. Stayed with hard ideas longer than anyone expected.
Together with Dickinson, we've built a growing library of Curipod activity formats: SCRs, ECRs, phonics, grammar, skill practice. Designed to fit the rhythm of every Bluebonnet K-5 lesson. Ready for the 2026-27 school year.

What I love about working with Curipod is they don't hand you a finished product. They sit down with you, and you build it together. My teachers feel ownership of it, and I know that means it will make a real impact.
