Parts of a Plant
roots: The part of the plant that grows underground, providing water and anchoring the plant to the ground. stem: The part of the plant that connects different parts of the plant, like the leaves and flowers, to the roots. leaves: The part of the plant that helps create food for the plant using sunlight and carbon dioxide.
Roots can sometimes store food for the plant. Leaves come in many shapes and sizes. Some plants don't have true stems and rely on their roots for support.
