What is the simplest form of energy?
Energy can't be created or destroyed, it can only change form. Different forms of energy include heat, light, sound, electrical, and kinetic energy. Energy transformation occurs when energy changes from one form to another.
Energy Transformation
Renewable Energy: Energy that comes from sources that are naturally replenished on a human timescale such as sunlight, wind, rain, tides, waves, and geothermal heat. Non-Renewable Energy: Energy sources that will eventually run out, such as fossil fuels. Clean Energy: Energy sources that produce little or no pollution such as solar, wind, hydro, and nuclear power.
Concepts:
The sun is a natural nuclear reactor! It converts hydrogen into helium through a process called nuclear fusion. The energy from wind turbines can be stored in the form of compressed air in underground reservoirs. Geothermal energy can be used to create electricity by using the heat from molten rock beneath the earth's surface.
