We use our eyes to see the world around us. We use our ears to hear the sounds around us. We use our nose, tongue, and skin to smell, taste, and feel!
Our Five Senses
Hearing: The ability to detect sound waves and interpret them as sound. Sight: The ability to detect light and interpret it as images. Smell: The ability to detect odors and interpret them as smells.
Which sense do you think is most important?
Humans have more than 5 senses. In addition to the commonly known five senses - sight, smell, sound, taste and touch - humans have a sense of balance, a sense of time, and a sense of pain. Humans can detect approximately 10,000 different smells. Humans have the ability to feel pressure from 1/1000th of an inch and temperature changes from 1/1000th of a degree Fahrenheit.
