In one word, how do you define gender equality?
Gender equality is the state of equal access to opportunities and resources regardless of gender. It is a fundamental human right and a building block of a peaceful, prosperous and sustainable world. Gender equality plays an important role in the development of all countries.

Gender equality: The state in which access to rights or opportunities is unaffected by biological sex. Gender equity: A fair and just relationship between men and women, in which the rights, responsibilities and opportunities of both genders are equal. Gender parity: The equal representation of men and women in all areas of life, including access to education and employment opportunities.

In 2012, the United Nations declared October 11th as the International Day of the Girl, to recognize girls' rights and the unique challenges girls face around the world. In 2019, the first female president of the International Olympic Committee was elected. In 2017, Canada became the first country in the world to launch a “gender equality” stamp with the goal of raising awareness of the issue.
